Agawa Canyon Sunset

The riverbank setting was perfect but the sky was gray and a bit drab. The sun had already set and I thought it was time to pack it in. And then, the sky lit up with beautiful hues of pink and purple. I couldn't believe my luck.

I stood there in awe watching the glow of colour build in the sky and reflect on the water. The colour faded in less than a minute and this magical moment was gone.

Fog and low-hanging clouds on a crisp autumn morning created the perfect conditions for a landscape photo. Luck was on my side.

When the soft pink hues of sunrise were added, they transformed this section of the Montreal River into a scene of beauty that I still marvel at.

Wait for it. Lake Superior looked unusually calm, cloudy, and a bit boring. Still, I grabbed my tripod, a bunch of filters, and shot some long exposures. The sunset was a bust, but sometimes the sky will light up if the conditions are right. The intense pink, purple, and violet hues burst into the sky creating a memorable sunset on Lake Superior.
